Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Hryhorii Sereda
On 25 November, the School of Psychology of Karazin University honours the 100th anniversary of the birth of Hryhorii Kuzmych Sereda — an outstanding Ukrainian psychologist, educator, and scholar whose contribution to the development of national psychology has become an important part of our academic heritage.
Hryhorii Sereda belongs to the generation of researchers who shaped scientific approaches to understanding personality, its development, and education. His research works focused on the psychology of memory, learning, the formation of individuality, and the interaction between genetic and environmental factors in human development. As a teacher and mentor, he trained an entire generation of specialists who continue his ideas within contemporary academic schools.
For the School of Psychology, the name of Hryhorii Sereda symbolizes intellectual dedication, humanistic values, and high academic standards. Today, we gratefully recall his life path, scholarly legacy, and profound influence on the development of psychological education in Ukraine.
In this anniversary year, we invite students, faculty, and all those interested to join in commemorating the scholar, reflecting on his contribution, and drawing inspiration from his ideas for the further advancement of psychological science.
