9 march 2026 year

Today, on March 9, the Karazin community bows its heads in mourning for those who lost their lives as a result of the brutal enemy attack our city suffered on the night of March 7. A missile strike on a residential high-rise building in the Kyivskyi District claimed the lives of ten people, including two children. This tragedy has become yet another painful ordeal for the people of Kharkiv, leaving a deep wound in everyone’s heart.

Karazin University expresses its sincere condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and to everyone affected by this cruel act of aggression. We mourn together with the relatives of the victims whose lives and futures were treacherously cut short. Our thoughts and prayers today are with the injured who are currently under medical care and fighting for their lives.

Despite everything, in these difficult times we stand together and support one another. The enemy seeks to sow fear and despair, destroying our homes, businesses, critical infrastructure, and iconic places, yet our strength lies in unity and compassion.

Today it is extremely important to extend a helping hand to those who have been left without shelter or who need psychological support. Let us stand together to overcome these hardships and preserve our faith in justice. Only through joint efforts, solidarity, and humanity will we be able to endure and overcome the consequences of the terrible tragedy that occurred on March 7.

May the memory of all the victims be eternal. Strength and resilience to each of us.
