The Day of Defenders of Ukraine: The University Commemorates
Today, we honor the people thanks to whom we can live in Ukraine, speak our mother language, study and work in Kharkiv, gain knowledge at Karazin University, and have plans for the future. Today is the day of those on whose shoulders rests the fate of our motherland.
For over 10 years, thousands of defenders, including many from Karazin University, have been holding back the enemy and giving millions of Ukrainians a chance at life. We bow low before you, we thank you for your daily efforts, for your resilience. May fate smile upon you, may higher forces protect you, and may your loved ones always be close despite the physical distance. Karazin community will continue doing everything to help you bring closer the bright day of victory!
At Karazin University, the project "Karazinians on the Frontline" is underway, where we interview soldiers who are students, alumni, and staff members. We want each of these stories to be heard. You can find the project's materials through the provided link.
We remember every day that we can live only because incredibly brave soldiers have given their lives in this unjust war, not initiated by us. Sadly, there are fallen heroes among our university family as well. In their honor, both physical and virtual memorials have been established at Karazin University. Eternal glory to every man and woman who perished in the fight against the Russians.
Today, at 9 a.m., we will pay tribute to all defenders of Ukraine. Let’s pause for a moment for those whose lives have ended forever.
