Ukrainian Statehood Day: The University Extends Its Greetings

Ukrainian Statehood Day is not only a remembrance of our historical past, but above all, a conscious affirmation of our identity, dignity, and the continuity of our state-building tradition.

The history of Ukrainian statehood has deep roots, dating back to the founding of Kyivan Rus. In 988, Prince Volodymyr the Great made a pivotal decision that shaped the future of Eastern Europe — the adoption of Christianity became not only a spiritual act, but also a powerful step toward state formation. Since then, the Ukrainian nation has faced numerous trials, yet time and again has found the strength to rise, preserve its values and traditions, and defend its right to freedom.

Today, as our state once again defends its right to exist in the struggle for freedom, we feel a profound responsibility to future generations. The Karazin community continues to work — despite all the challenges — with faith in victory, in progress, and in the strength of the Ukrainian people.

Ukrainian Statehood Day is an opportunity to once again realize: we are part of a great heritage, and we are its continuation. And we must carry this title with dignity — as citizens of Ukraine, as scholars, educators, students, and creators of Ukraine’s future.
