Ukrainian Volunteer Day
On March 14, Ukraine marks Ukrainian Volunteer Day — a day dedicated to honoring the courage and commitment of those who, at a decisive moment for the country, stood up to defend it without hesitation.
Ukrainian volunteers are a symbol of resilience, strength of spirit, and genuine patriotism. At different moments in Ukraine’s recent history, they were the first to rise in defense of the country’s freedom and independence, demonstrating responsibility for the future of their nation.
Among those who are currently defending Ukraine are also members of the V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University community. Today, 70 Karazin members — faculty and university staff — serve in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Of them, 26 joined the defense of our country voluntarily, choosing the path of service to Ukraine following the call of their hearts.
Karazin University is proud of its defenders — both men and women — who demonstrate courage, responsibility, and devotion to their homeland. Their bravery and determination embody the highest values upon which the university community is built.
On Ukrainian Volunteer Day, we express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has stood up to defend Ukraine and honor the memory of those who gave their lives for the freedom of our country. We remember, we support, and we believe in our victory.
