Day of Slavic Writing and Culture: The University Celebrates

24 may 2025 year

The word is the soul of the people, writing is their memory, and language is the key to their future.

Every year on May 24, we celebrate the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture, honoring the great legacy of Cyril and Methodius, the creators of the first Slavic alphabet. Their mission was not only educational — it also gave hope. In the darkest times, it was the written word — preserved and passed on — that remained a light that never faded.

Writing is not just a means of communication. It is the root that keeps a nation afloat amid the tides of change. It is a chain of generations, and we are one of its links. How we nurture our language today will determine what it becomes tomorrow.

We take pride in the fact that the Ukrainian language is heard in our classrooms, in our research, and in the hearts of our students. And we urge everyone to preserve it, develop it, and spread it — as a priceless heritage that knows no boundaries in time.

May the word remain strong, and culture — alive!
