Day of Mourning and Remembrance of War Victims: the University Remembers
Today, on June 22, we honor the memory of Ukrainians who died as a result of the Second World War. This is more than a quarter of the population of Ukraine at the time, whose lives were unjustly cut short by the Nazi occupiers.
78 years have passed since the end of World War II, but evil has returned. On the other hand, with a different name, but with the same face and goal - to destroy the Ukrainian people.
There is no family that the hand of racism has not reached. Shelling, rocket attacks, intimidation, terrorist acts, the destruction of homes and the crippling of souls are the only things that the war unleashed by Russia today brings.
The University feels this grief firsthand, as the war is taking away our best students, graduates and staff.
The Karazin community bows its head to all the victims of the war in Ukraine in 1939-1945. Eternal memory and honor to those who today continue to pay the ultimate price for the freedom of Ukraine!
