Building an environment of integrity is one of the key areas in the development of modern higher education. For this reason, the National Agency on Corruption Prevention emphasises the need for the systematic implementation of integrity principles in the administrative and educational processes of higher education institutions.

At Karazin University, this work has a clear regulatory framework. On September 29, 2025, the Academic Council of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University approved the Academic Integrity Code, which systematises the key principles and rules of academic integrity, defines mechanisms for its development and promotion, identifies types of violations, and establishes response measures.

Of particular importance is the fact that the Code provides not only for responding to violations but also for a comprehensive system aimed at developing, ensuring, and promoting academic integrity. It encompasses the regulatory framework, the work of authorised persons and commissions, information resources, educational and awareness-raising tools, educational components, and initiatives aimed at fostering a culture of integrity.

One of the principles established by the Code is zero tolerance for any violations of academic integrity. At the same time, priority is given to teaching, educational, motivational, and incentive-based approaches that help prevent violations.
