35th Anniversary of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Ukraine

On this day, July 16, 1990, the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR adopted the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Ukraine — a historic document that became one of the key milestones on the path to independence. It was a decisive step toward affirming the Ukrainian people's right to self-determination, statehood, and a dignified future.

Today, amid the ongoing struggle for independence, we feel the importance of the Declaration of State Sovereignty more acutely than ever. It reminds us that sovereignty is not just a political or legal concept — it is, above all, a daily responsibility of citizens for the future of their country.
