159th Anniversary of the Birth of Mykhailo Hrushevsky: The University Remembers

V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University pays deep tribute to the memory of the outstanding historian, statesman, thinker, and Honorary Doctor of our University — Mykhailo Hrushevsky.

Mykhailo Serhiyovych left a profound mark on the history of Ukraine. The author of the monumental “History of Ukraine-Rus”, Head of the Central Rada of the Ukrainian People’s Republic, he embodied both the power of a scholar and a nation-builder, for whom service to his people was the highest guiding principle.

For Karazin University, the connection with the figure of Mykhailo Hrushevsky is both a great honor and a responsibility. His ideas and his faith in the educational and cultural mission of Ukraine continue to guide today’s generations of students and faculty.

On the birthday of our Honorary Doctor, we honor his legacy — spiritual, scholarly, and civic. It is a legacy that still inspires us to work for the glory of Ukrainian science and statehood.
