1 December — World AIDS Day
Today, Karazin University joins the global community in marking World AIDS Day, which reminds us of our shared responsibility in combating HIV/AIDS.
Even during challenging times, amid the ongoing war, Ukraine continues its efforts in HIV prevention, diagnosis, and treatment: the state and international partners provide free testing and ensure access to antiretroviral therapy. The country’s strategic goal remains unchanged — meeting the UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets, so that every person living with HIV knows their status, receives treatment, and has the opportunity for a full life.
The University calls on everyone — students, faculty, staff, and friends — not to remain indifferent:
-
get tested for HIV and encourage others to do the same;
-
speak about HIV openly and without stigma;
-
share only accurate, evidence-based information;
-
support people living with HIV.
Let us remember: the fight against AIDS is not a one-day event — it continues every day. This is a joint effort not only of doctors and organizations, but of each of us.
