University Student Campus

The Student Campus is an integral part of the infrastructure of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. It was established to provide quality living conditions for higher education students, postgraduate and doctoral students, university employees, as well as third-party residents.

The campus comprises 13 dormitories of various types — block-style, corridor-style, and mixed (corridor–block) systems. The dormitories are located in different districts of the city of Kharkiv, ensuring convenient access to academic buildings, public transport, shops, and other infrastructure facilities. Each dormitory has an administrative service, 24/7 security, and video surveillance.

Living conditions:

  • rooms are designed for 2–4 residents and equipped with basic furniture: beds, desks, wardrobes, shelves, and bedside tables;

  • shared kitchens equipped with electric or gas stoves;

  • in some block-style dormitories, sanitary facilities are located within the block;

  • regular cleaning of common areas;

  • access control system in dormitories;

  • many dormitories offer Wi-Fi or the possibility to connect to the Internet via local providers;

  • priority accommodation for privileged categories;

  • selected dormitories are adapted to ensure inclusive living conditions for persons with disabilities.

Residents:

  • more than 5,000 people live in the student campus, including undergraduate and master’s students, postgraduate and doctoral students, international students, university staff, and other residents;

  • dormitories foster a multicultural environment, promoting the development of communication skills, mutual understanding, and tolerance.

Management and support:

  • the student campus is managed by the university administration, the Campus Directorate, in cooperation with the Student Council;

  • residents may address everyday issues to the dormitory head/warden/administrator or representatives of student self-government;

  • a technical maintenance service is available — in case of malfunctions, residents can submit a repair request.

The Student Campus of Karazin University is not only a place to live, but also a space for personal development, communication, and the formation of an active student community.
