On this occasion a series of special events took place at the University. Today we celebrated a day that symbolizes the synergy between academic achievement and sporting perfection.

Today, Marina Lytovchenko, a graduate and employee of the School of Sociology, Olympic medallist, visited the University. Maryna communicated with students and lecturers and held a table tennis workshop. The Karazin community also congratulated Maryna on her silver medal at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.

Maryna Lytovchenko is a great friend of the university who stood with Karazin University during its most difficult periods. In particular, at the beginning of 2022, Maryna was ready to put her Olympic medals up for an auction to raise money for the restoration of Karazin University after the shelling. As Marina says: ‘It is an enormous pleasure for me to come to the university, to be with you, even though my heart is always with you... This medal becomes even more meaningful when you realize that you can not only achieve something, but you can help. For me, this is more valuable than my previous achievement. Yes, there is a lot of work, stories and experience behind it (the medal). But when you see what this medal can do, it’s worth it.’

Another piece of great news is that tennis tables are now available on the second floor of the main building (near the assembly hall), where everyone can practice this sport.

The event was attended by honored guests: Viktor Khristoyev, Deputy Head of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine in Kharkiv Region, and Olena Kriventsova, Head of the Kharkiv Regional Branch of the Committee for Physical Education and Sports of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

During the event, Karazinities were awarded with diplomas from the Committee for Physical Education and Sports of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on the occasion of the Day of Physical Culture and Sports and the Day of Education. Congratulations to our teachers on their awards!
