Representatives of the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies of the Education and Research Institute "UIPA" Participated in the First Training Module for Trainers and Mentors of the STUDBIZ Ukraine Project
Representatives of the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies of the Education and Research Institute "Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy" at Karazin University Become Partners in the International Project "Social Student Enterprises to Support Youth in (Post-)War Ukraine" (STUDBIZ Ukraine)
Representatives of the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies of the Education and Research Institute "Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy" at Karazin University, in partnership with the NGO "Innovative Generation" (INNOGEN), have become partners in the international project "Social Student Enterprises to Support Youth in (Post-)War Ukraine" (STUDBIZ Ukraine). This project is implemented by the School of ME (NGO "School of Conscious Entrepreneurship") with the support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the organization ChildFund Deutschland e.V.
On March 10–11, in Kyiv at the UNIT.City Innovation Park, the School of ME team conducted the first training module for trainers and mentors of the project, involving representatives of 10 youth centers for social entrepreneurship development in educational institutions.
Our team was represented by specialists from the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies of the Educationand Research Institute "UIPA" — Tetiana Kostrova and Maksym Baturin — as well as the Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations, Roman Nesterenko.
During the two-day training for trainers and mentors in social entrepreneurship in educational institutions, participants worked on idea generation and completed practical tasks to enhance their skills in social entrepreneurship. The training program covered the following topics:
- What is "social entrepreneurship in educational institutions"?
- An overview of school enterprise cases in Ukraine and abroad.
- Roles and interaction of students, supervisors, administration, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Who is involved in the launch and operation of social enterprises in educational institutions?
- The ecosystem for developing social entrepreneurship in educational institutions — opportunities, materials, stakeholders.
- Generating business ideas based on educational institutions. Practical group work on filling out a business canvas.
- Educational formats in the field of entrepreneurship. Developing a training program — key aspects to consider.
- Effective methods and features of teaching teenagers.
Additionally, trainers attended a meeting with representatives of an active school enterprise from Kyiv, participated in a Q&A session on "How to launch a social enterprise in an educational institution?" and concluded with a final reflection.
The event trainers were:
- Anna Hladka — Head of the "Education and Consulting" direction at School of ME, trainer, facilitator, entrepreneur, developer of educational programs and materials on social entrepreneurship in educational institutions, and author of online courses on social entrepreneurship and project management. She also supports several social entrepreneurship projects.
- Alina Bocharnikova — Social Entrepreneurship Development Coordinator at the Future Development Agency, certified social entrepreneurship trainer, experienced in developing educational programs and supporting the launch of social enterprises in educational institutions.
Ahead, Karazin University representatives will participate in two more trainer sessions (ToT) and engage in three years of fruitful work conducting training sessions and providing mentorship support to schools that decide to establish new social enterprises.
Additionally, the STUDBIZ project will provide grant support equivalent to €2,000 for equipping and enhancing the capacity of the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies of the Education and Rsearch Institute "UIPA" as a STUDBIZ hub for supporting and developing social entrepreneurship in secondary, vocational (technical), and professional pre-higher education institutions.
