Students of Karazin University also took part in the event.

First-year students were welcomed by Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the Kharkiv Regional Council Tetiana Yehorova-Lutsenko, and Chair of the Kharkiv Youth Congress, University student Mariia Bella Beigel.

“The network of higher education institutions in Kharkiv Region currently comprises 21 institutions. During the 2026 admission campaign, 19,032 students have already been admitted to bachelor’s degree programmes and 10,106 to master’s degree programmes. The admissions process is ongoing. In total, higher education institutions in the region have around 99,000 students, more than 27,000 of whom study in in-person and blended formats. These figures demonstrate the resilience of Kharkiv Region’s education system, which continues to operate despite the region remaining on the frontline,” said Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov.

The Karazin community sincerely thanks the organisers for the opportunity to join the celebration of First-Year Students’ Day and the regional authorities for their continued support of higher education institutions in Kharkiv Region. Such support helps create the conditions for young people to study and realise their potential in Kharkiv.
