International Scientific Conference 'Creative Intentions of the "Children of War": from the 'Lost Generation' to the Children of the Digital Age

On October 23, 2024, the International Scientific Conference "Creative Intentions of the 'Children of War': from the 'Lost Generation' to the Children of the Digital Age" was held, organized by the Department of Ukrainian Literature of the 20th Century and Contemporary Literary Process at the T. H. Shevchenko Institute of Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, along with the Center for Research on the Problems of Ukrainian Sixtiers, headed by Professor Liudmyla Tarnashynska.

Co-organizers of this significant scientific event, especially relevant in the context of our present, included Dnipro National University named after Oles Honchar, the Department of Ukrainian Studies at the University of Warsaw, Nizhyn State University named after Mykola Hohol, the Center for Humanitarian Cooperation with the Ukrainian Diaspora, as well as V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, specifically the Department of the History of Ukrainian Literature at the School of Philology.

The sectional meetings were dedicated to issues related to literature for and about children, artistic understanding of the children's world in the context of military existence, and post-colonial discourse that focuses on pathways to identity recovery and variations in memorializing the changing present. The "Diary" of Pylyp Orlyk and the memories of Larysa Zaleska-Onyshkevych, along with the works of Ihor Kostiak, Ivan Bahriany, Vasyl Stus, Yurii Tarnavskyi, Volodymyr Drozd, Andrii Kokotiukha, and others became the subject of scholarly reception by researchers from various higher education institutions.

The world of science is like an apple seed from which millions of Skovorodyn gardens will grow, bearing the fruits of love and peace.
